ADKRvMIE Report: Chase done and dusted, with 11.5 overs to spare!
By MI Emirates Media
That was quick. And clinical. And NRR-pumping. MI Emirates continue extending their dominance over the AD Knight Riders, and this time, it’s done in style, with the match ending in a total of 23.2 overs. Let’s relive ..
Perera and Waseem wallop in style
There was no pressure of the asking rate, and our openers could swing for the hills at will. Well, they did just that, and inside four overs, already amassed 42 on the board. Even after the MIE debutant, Kusal Perera fell, skipper Nicky P refused to let the scoring rate come down. In fact he cranked it up a notch, with a 16-ball 39.
Boult and Rohid swing it to win it
It’s almost impossible to image Trent Boult not picking up a wicket in the powerplay. And today, after choosing to bowl first on a pitch that had a bit of juice, he was just lethal. Michael Pepper and Sam Hain were caught-behind to outswingers in the fourth over, and Gous fell to an inswinger in the sixth. To make sure there was no further twist, Rohid Khan blew away the tail, and before the Knight Riders knew it, their innings was over in just 14.1 overs for 95 runs.
“I have a simple game plan. Try to pitch it up and search for some swing. I saw in the earlier game that it was swinging around early, so wanted to maximize the conditions,” is how Boulty summed it up.
Top of the table!
And with this win, we jump to the top of the table with four points, along with a huge boost to our net-run-rate. We now move to Sharjah to face the Sharjah Warriors
